スロバキア出身、京都を拠点に活動する音楽家・
作曲家・民族音楽学者。
ヨーロッパ、インド、日本を舞台に、演奏活動、
創作、フィールドワークを重ねながら、伝統音楽、作曲、民族音楽学を探究してきた。
三味線、フヤラ、フィールドレコーディングをはじめ、即興演奏や土地に応答するサイトスペシフィックな表現を通して、音・場所・身体・記憶の関係性を探究している。また、多様な音楽文化との共同制作や地域との継続的な関わりを通じて、伝統と現代をつなぐ新たな表現を模索している。
現在は芸術プロジェクト「Marekumo」を主宰し、耳を澄まし、歩き、土地と向き合うなかで生まれる作品を、演奏、録音、写真、文章などさまざまな形で発表している。
Originally from Slovakia, MK is a musician, composer, and ethnomusicologist based in Kyoto, Japan.
His artistic path has taken him across Europe, India, and Japan, where years of study, performance, and fieldwork have shaped a practice rooted in traditional music, composition, and cultural research.
Working with shamisen, fuyara, field recordings, and site-responsive performance, his work explores the relationship between sound, place, movement, and lived experience. Through collaborations across diverse musical traditions and long-term engagement with local communities,
he develops performances and recordings that bring together traditional practice with contemporary artistic expression.
Through his ongoing artistic project, Marekumo,
he creates works shaped by attentive listening, observation, and the changing character of place.
